A Step Back

I’m certain most folks would agree that 2020 was a wild ride. From advocating for police reform and the BLM protests to murder hornets and an election, it was crazy! Oh, yeah, and that little thing called COVID.

In our personal and professional lives, Dellanee and I have learned so many valuable lessons. The pandemic made one thing crystal clear for us: people are the most important asset this world offers. And “people” includes ourselves.

It is time to get those vision boards ready and manifest the year 2021. Let's also be clear — if you think vision boards are pointless, then you are sadly mistaken. Just hear me out.

Marketing through Political Campaigns: 2020 & You

November 3 is right around the corner, and we all know what is to come on this day: the Presidential Election of 2020. All year long, you've probably seen all the social media platforms annoying you with all different types of messages: "Register to vote here!" "Are you registered to vote?" "Check your voting location here" They advertised it so much, even if you were already registered to vote, you got paranoid. You clicked the link to check your voter status. Soon after, you get aggravated because even after you checked, it's STILL popping up and enticing you to click it. As annoying as it may seem, this type of political advertising holds importance for this election year.

My First Week at Maltshop: Crystal

Maltshop Marketing, so far, has put a whole new (and somewhat familiar) perspective of what is to come of my skills, goals, and future actions for this job offer. Before dabbling into the learning of SEO content and article writing, I was only used to the creative aspect of the subject. I loved writing research, opinion articles, poetry, and short stories due to always finding a loving comfort.

Building Customer Relationships

As we are less than a month away from celebrating our first official business year, I must say it has been a whole journey. Erin and I have learned so much within a time like this. From handling business through a pandemic, project management to adding team members, and working multiple jobs — we can say that we have SEEN and DONE it all. Haha!

But in all fairness, we would not be where we are if it was not for the keen clientele and relationships that we have built with them. One of the key values at Maltshop the team always wants to live by is building open & honest relationships. It is vital to communicate proactively and effectively because this will instill confidence within the client that we are aware of their needs and bring their visions to life. What does it take for companies to make these kinds of relationships, and why is it important?

What Makes a Good Website

We’ve built a number of websites here at the Maltshop, and I speak from experience when I say no two clients are the same. Sure there may be similarities, but they all often differ on two key issues when it comes to websites.

  1. 1. What do you want your site to do for you?

  2. Will you be editing anything on the site in-house?

These questions are often the first ones we ask or glean from the conversation. For those less informed on the capabilities of the web, they often don’t want to make edits themselves and primarily want the site to just “exist” so potential customers can find them through Google. But the harsh truth is, a site that just “exists” is probably not going to get you the Google searches you want. With that in mind, here are our top 5 things every website should have to get you the results you need.

My First Week at Maltshop: Tyllor

If you have worked multiple jobs, you most likely have a favorite employer/supervisor among them. Or if you have never worked, maybe a favorite professor/instructor? It just naturally happens that someone gave you a better experience than the others.

In my case, I have had a few supervisors and have been fortunate enough to not receive any bad experiences. Although it has only been a short time, Erin and Dellanee have made me feel like more than just an intern. I feel very welcomed, appreciated, and have been shown a lot of patience. I am sure that it can seem common for interns to be treated very poorly in the working world.

A Departure

This post is a departure from our regular blog entries. Usually we are bringing you marketing advice or some form of inspiration. But today, we’ve got to get serious.

At the Maltshop, Dellanee and I both hold equality and love for others as HIGH priorities. But neither of us can sit back and go about our daily lives, building the Maltshop, while black men are being murdered across our country due to police brutality.

A Letter to the Class of 2020

Dear Class of 2020,

We are so sorry that you are at home. We know this is the time to be out with your friends and loved ones, celebrating one of the most significant milestones of your lives. We know some people will never understand how much you all have waited for this day. There's so much more than imagining moments, such as your parents cheering for you walking across the stage or shaking the president's hand when receiving that degree — it's about living them.

A Sign of the Times

COVID-19 has rocked everyone’s worlds, y’all! Dellanee and I are both very thankful for all of those working on the front lines in the healthcare worlds, essential employees and those in the customer service arenas. They are all at-risk every day when they go to work. The rest of us wouldn’t be able to live successfully during this shutdown without the danger they put themselves in everyday.

But this post isn’t about them, though. It’s about the folks behind the scenes that we haven’t praised yet: the sign makers and banner printers.
